UIL Academic Online Practice Contest
Enter now for 2024-25
The Best of Texas online tournament (a set of three contests) is for Texas UIL and TAPPS high schools. The contest consists of your choice of eleven subjects—Accounting, Biology, Calculator, Chemistry, Computer Science, Current Issues, Literary Criticism, Mathematics, Number Sense, Social Studies, and Spelling. You may choose to enter any or all twelve subjects. The contest will consist of three rounds of tests in each subject. Dates for the 2024-25 school year are:
Round 1 - November 1 thru November 30
Round 2 - January 1 thru January 31
Round 3 - February 1 thru February 28
The contest is held at each participating school, and any number of students may participate. You will have two weeks in which to give each test.
The sponsor will receive the tests online, make copies, give the tests to the students and submit the scores online. Scores will be available for participants to view online throughout the contest.
Best of Texas provides a valuable source of materials for your students for UIL practice without the travel.
Awards are based on the cumulative total of the three rounds and will be sent following the final round. A plaque will be awarded to the top team in each subject in each classification (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A). Certificates will be awarded to the top 10 individuals in each subject in each classification and to the top three individuals in each grade level (9th, 10th, 11th, 12th) in each classification in each subject. The certificates will be emailed to the coaches for printing.
In addition to the overall awards, Round Champs will be named for each round. The top ten individuals in each subject in each classification will receive certificates.
